Send Guatemalan Missionaries to the Nations

Last week, we shared with you the story of Mafer Aparicio, our Guatemalan friend who is now serving the nations on the World Race. Mafer epitomizes much of the heart of our ministry—discipleship and mobilization.

But Mafer isn’t the only one.

In Panajachel, on the shores of Lake Atitlan, there is a group of Guatemalans who have surrendered their lives to Christ and said ‘yes’ to the call that He has placed on their lives, a call to share His love with the nations. One day each month, the group gathers together to learn about missions from members of our base. Following the teaching, they minister to members of their own community, praying for the sick and sharing the Gospel.

In November, they are putting it all into practice. They will be traveling to Honduras, where they will serve for a week alongside Hondurans and North Americans to bring the Gospel.

This is a huge step of faith for this team. Many will be leaving Guatemala for the first time, serving on a missions trip for the first time, and fundraising for the first time.

Fundraising. It may be the biggest physical challenge facing this team, but they have seen past the challenges and chosen to go to Honduras anyway. They don’t know how they will be able to afford this trip, but they are trusting God to provide.

This is where you come in. Today, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $1,150. This money will be used to cover all transportation costs to and from Honduras. Any additional money raised past the goal will be contributed to the team to offset their lodging and food costs.

This team would be incredibly blessed and encouraged to receive your support as they continue their journey to Honduras. They would also be thankful for your continued prayers and encouragement over the next couple of months.
