Since birth, the Lord has been intertwining Marielle’s heart with His heart for Guatemala. At the age of eight, her family moved to Guatemala for a couple of years as they served as missionaries to the local communities. During that time, the Lord started to put a dream in her heart about living in Guatemala and caring for the orphans here. For years, she put it out of her mind and began a beautiful journey with the Lord. She pursued a degree in Elementary Education. She then began loving on all of the little niños around her. In the midst of changing diapers, wiping noses, and giving lots of cuddles, Marielle also went on several short term mission trips. The Lord started to open up her eyes and heart to the nations.

She had plans to move to an orphanage in Costa Rica before she heard about the World Race, but she declined that and decided to launch with the World Race in 2013. Her leaders quickly identified her leadership giftings, and she was raised up as a squad leader to help disciple and pour into the World Racers around her. During that time, Marielle discovered that she has a calling of discipleship on her life. The Lord brought her around full circle when He started to bring into remembrance the dreams of orphan care that He planted in her life when she was a child.  God beautifully began merging her gifting of discipleship with her calling of caring for the orphans in Guatemala by opening the doors for her to move down and join Adventures Guatemala. She nows serves our ministry as the Pastoral Supervisor.
